A former military radar training facility from the 1940s was transformed into a solar power producer. The 23rd SolarShare project, Vanastra was named by our members after the village surrounding it.

The project is 366 kW, enough clean energy capacity to power about 40 homes. The heavy concrete building itself is massive and robust, and will host our rooftop panels for many years to come. Today, the buildings are home to some commercial businesses, but are no longer used by the Canadian Forces. More about Vanastra on the blog >>
